AWANA is an international, Bible centered youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs from three-year olds through sixth grade. Our goal is to reach boys and girls, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" (2 Timothy 2:15).

Our club meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the school year, from September through April. It is a program which includes Bible memorization, fun games and age appropriate Bible lessons.

Note: If there is no school on Wednesday, there is no Awana either!

At First Baptist Church you will find the following Awana Clubs

The Cubbies are the Awana club for pre-schoolers. With games, crafts and other fun activities, this is a great way for your pre-schooler to be trained in God's ways for the first time...

The Sparks are the Awana club for your children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The Sparks are the next step up from the Cubbies, delving deeper into God's Word and discovering their need of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Our oldest age group, grades 3 through 6, enter the Truth & Training club. These T&T kids learn more about evangelism and discipleship, discover the answers to the harder Bible questions and are being trained to serve our Lord in their everyday life.
